JE Wraps Up Their Season

The varsity volleyball team wrapped up the season in the sectional semifinals on November 5th. They played tough, taking the #1 seed Bishop Ludden Grimes 25-19 in the first set and kept it close in the last 3.

Huge congrats to Zoie Karcz for a season of hard work and for breaking JE’s all-time career assist record!

Mark Your Calendars

  • September 19th & 20th - Fall Festival Cleanup (JV Friday Night 5:30-9:30 / Varsity Saturday morning 9:30am - 1:30 pm)
  • WED, October 1st - Pep Rally (all JV & Varsity must attend) Time: 7:30
  • THUR, October 9th - SENIOR NIGHT (match at home vs. ITC) in case of illness or whatever, we can schedule October 21st vs. Weedsport.
  • SAT, October 18th - Varsity has an all-day tournament at Onondaga Central School with our first match starting at 8 am bus leaves early about 6:45 am
  • FALL VARSITY SPORTS AWARDS  NEW DATE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2025 6 pm
  • POSSIBLE POST SEASON play for varsity which could go into mid-November (see online calendar)


  • Our Season-Long Community Service Project
    This season, our volleyball team will be collecting food items for our local JE food pantry. At each home game, please consider bringing a non-perishable food item, a small cash donation, or both. Thank you for your support!

Details on JE Alumni Volleyball Event

Volleyball Player & Family Commitments

  • Summer Volleyball - attend as many as possible (this helps us evaluate and prepare for the season and determine which tryout you will attend JV or Varsity). - some have had great attendance, others -- not so much)
  • Varsity is working to defend a sectional championship as well as to earn a 3rd in a row league championship. 
  • Season starts Monday, August 18th
  • Players must attend all practices. Missing practice will affect your playing time.  BOTTOM LINE - If you miss any practice or any match, your playing time will be affected for upcoming matches.  We need ALL players at ALL practices and matches. (more to follow on this)
  • JV players must stay for 1 varsity set (home and away matches) and are required to help with varsity warmups. 
  • Varsity Players must be at JV Matches 30 minutes prior to their start time to help with JV warmups
  • All Varsity Players ride bus home (no exceptions)
  • Be prepared to spend about $50 on team shirts/gear.  Costs are subsidized based on participation with fundraising (i.e. fall fest cleanup, concession stand)
  • All players will volunteer in stadium concession stand (dates TBA)
  • Social Media - Keep it positive and remember it's a team sport.
  • Players - Negative posts on social media/texts/snapchat, etc. will result in suspension and possible dismissal from team.


KEY HIGHLIGHTS FROM DISTRICT'S CODE OF CONDUCT 

  • All students must be in school by start of school to be eligible to participate (unless legal reason with note from doctor, dentist, or college official. That 8 am time may change -- waiting on official bell schedule.
  • Academics must be in good standing.  Details in handbook.
  • Late due to illness = not eligible on same day unless physician note.
